One of her most famous pieces ,  the Transat, short for Transatlantic, is a classic piece of Modernist furniture that is still reproduced today. Created by  Eileen Gray in the mid 1920s, it was part of a massive cultural and visual shift from the highly decorated and ornate styles popular before World War I towards a minimalistic, functional aesthetic. This particular example is in splendid vintage condition with the exact type of patina one could wish for, the lacquered wood is in superb condition and the leather and chrome detailing has just the right amount of wear to add character and charm .
