January 15, 2026Rare And Beautiful Lucite & Wenge Desk Attributed To Danish Designer Poul Nørreklit
€8,950.00
This exceptionally rare sculptural desk is attributed to Danish designer Poul Nørreklit and exemplifies a period of bold experimentation within Scandinavian modern design. Executed in richly toned wenge wood and paired with striking lucite supports, the piece showcases a sophisticated interplay between natural material and modern transparency, resulting in a design that is both architectural and sculptural in nature.
The desk features a beautifully shaped, curved wenge top with pronounced grain and depth of colour, offering a strong visual presence while remaining elegant and refined. The surface is supported by crystal-clear lucite bases, which create a remarkable sense of lightness and allow the desk to appear almost floating within a space. An integrated drawer is seamlessly incorporated into the design, maintaining clean, uninterrupted lines and a strong sense of visual balance.
Accompanying the desk is its original matching lucite chair, which complements the desk’s flowing form and material language. The chair mirrors the curved lines and transparency of the lucite supports, reinforcing the cohesive and sculptural nature of the overall composition.
This desk represents an outstanding example of experimental Scandinavian design and is highly uncommon, particularly when offered together with its original chair. It would be exceptionally well suited to a refined home office or a design-led professional workspace, where it would function not only as a practical desk but as a commanding statement piece with strong visual impact.
A highly distinctive and sought-after work, offered in excellent condition. For viewing appointments either vitrual or in person from our Stradbally showroom just drop us a message and we will be more than happy to arrange at a time that suits you.
